HAVERING OPEN ART EXHIBITION 2016:

Havering Arts Council is pleased to be organizing an art exhibition presenting works of the enormous range of talented artists working locally. This will be held in the foyer of the Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch RM11 1QT, from Thursday 28th July to Tuesday 6th September. There is a competitive element, with a revival of the Havering Over-60s' prize, and award for those aged 18-25 and/or in full-time education, a Best in Exhibition award open to all entrants, and a People's Award voted for by the public. Please see further details and an entry form here.

HAVERING ARTS FESTIVAL 2016:

Havering Arts Council members have once again combined with the London Borough of Havering’s Arts Development Team, and others active in the Arts, to present the Havering Arts Festival 2016.

The Festival includes over 50 events, running from April to July. There are art exhibitions, plays, concerts, interesting talks, and some arts activities for children and young adults from groups active in Dance, Drama, Literary, Music and Visual Arts. We hope that you will be able to join us through the spring and summer. You will be welcome!

Details of Havering Arts Festival events and activities can be found in our Calendar of events. You can also download a copy of the Calendar here.

PERIPATETIC FULL LENGTH DRAMA FESTIVAL:

Theatre_Masks_svg_thumb.pngEvery year representatives from Havering Arts Council's Drama Sub-Committee organise a competitive full length drama festival featuring productions being staged by our member groups. In 2016 there are six groups taking part, with productions being staged in May and June at venues in both Havering and Brentwood. (They can be easily identified in the Calendar of Events and Havering Arts Festival brochure by the theatrical masks logo.) All participating productions are viewed and marked in a number of areas, including direction, acting and staging, by a professional Adjudicator from the Guild of Drama Adjudicators. This year we are delighted to welcome Jill Colby to the borough, who will announce the winners in each category at our Gala Awards Night at Langtons on Thursday 14 July.

For more information on the festival or any of the participating groups, contact Chrissie O'Connor, Chairman of the HAC Drama Sub-Committee at haveringartscouncil@live.co.uk
